about

Simon is an editorial photographer based in Brighton with over 30 years' experience in newspapers and agencies, and is employed by The Argus, a regional daily. His photographs have been published in a wide number of national papers and magazines as well as being used for PR and advertising campaigns. Simon has a keen eye for news and sport, especially football, but is always on the lookout for the unusual and quirky moments in daily life.

In a career which began in 1976 when he started as a junior on weekly papers in Worthing, he has worked for the Keystone Press Agency in London during the early 1980s covering such events as Prince Charles' wedding to Diana, and spent a short spell working freelance before becoming a staff photographer at The Argus. His work has taken him on assignments not only locally and nationally but also further afield, including to India and Bosnia.

Simon has gained industry recognition with various awards including BT British Regional Photographer of the Year twice and the Southern News Photographer of the Year six times under different sponsors. He has also been nominated for Ilford Press Photographer of the Year and The Guild of Picture Editors Awards.

Simon is a member of the British Press Photographers Association and the NUJ.
